You do not need an account to read markblue.com and we do not ask you to. Two things still happen when a page loads:

Vercel Web Analytics. We count pageviews, which page sent you here, rough country, and device type. It does not use cookies and does not follow you to other sites. We see totals, not people.

Google Fonts. The typefaces on this site are served by Google. That means Google receives your IP address when a page loads, the same as on a large share of the web. We get nothing from that request and we do not control it. If you would rather that not happen, a content blocker will stop it, and the site still works with fallback fonts.

We run no advertising pixels, no session recording, no cross-site tracking, and no cookie banner — because there is nothing to consent to.

When you click through to reserve, you leave this site for Stripe's checkout page. Stripe collects your name, email, and card details and processes them under their own privacy policy.

If you contact us we keep the message and your contact details, for the obvious reason that we need them to answer you and to remember the conversation later. We do not add you to a marketing list off the back of a support question.

This part applies once you are onboarded and using MarkBlue on a job, not to browsing this site. In the app we hold the audio you record, the transcripts made from it, the snapshots you take, the punch list items you create, and any location or job details you attach to them.

Audio is sent to a speech-to-text provider to be transcribed and is not used to train models for other customers. Your recordings capture other people — your subs — so what you collect about them is your responsibility as much as ours. See the recording section of our terms.

A short and complete list. Each one does a specific job and gets only what that job requires.

Vercel — hosts the site and provides the analytics above.
Stripe — payments and subscriptions.
Google Fonts — serves the typefaces, and therefore sees IP addresses.
A speech-to-text provider — transcribes app audio once you are onboarded.

We do not sell your data. There is no version of this business where selling a contractor's punch list makes sense.

Job content stays until you delete it or close your account. Analytics totals are aggregate and not tied to you. Billing records we keep as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is longer than you might expect and is not something we can waive.

Email [CONTACT EMAIL] and ask. We will export what we hold or delete it within 30 days, minus the billing records mentioned above. You do not need to cite a statute or live in a particular state — we will just do it.

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to the people who need it, and payments never touch our servers. That said, no service can promise it will never be breached. If we ever have an incident affecting your data, we will tell you what happened and what we did about it.

MarkBlue is a tool for working contractors. It is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
